JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Renault’s Duster SUV has sold more than 10 000 units in South Africa since its launch in September 2013 so the automaker is celebrating with an appearance-enhanced version.

The company has elected to add some body bits to the petrol-fuelled 77kW Duster 1.6 Dynamique 4×2 to create what will be marketed as the Limited Edition Explore.
Renault SA’s product manager Jeffrey Allison, told The Corner that only 100 will be available but at the same price as the standard Renault Duster 1.6 16V Dynamique 4×2.
The upgrade to the 1.6 Dynamique 4×2 adds:
Duster-branded nudge bar
Limited Edition 16” alloy wheel rims
Wheel-arch protectors and
The car’s engine makes 77kW at 5750rpm and 148Nm at 3750rpm with a claimed average fuel consumption of 7.6 litres/100km.
“The Duster is an authentic SUV that’s tough, unpretentious and versatile,” Renault SA says. “It’s a proven fit for any individual or family seeking adventure.
“It’s the first Renault designed to meet European standards yet conquer those international markets where roads are considerably more rugged – a formidable contender in South Africa’s SUV B-segment.”
Like the rest of Renault’s product range, the Duster 1.6 77kW Dynamique 4×2 Limited Edition Explore comes with a five-year or 150 000km mechanical warranty, three-year or 45 000km service plan and a six-year anti-corrosion warranty.
Service intervals 15 000km.
