Cheeky Dacia sees off top brands in Which? survey

  • Dacia voted UK’s fourth most-reliable brand by Which?

LONDON, England – Dacia has been voted the fourth most-reliable car brand out of 34 automakers listed in Britain’s 2016 Which? Car Surey.

The survey, which claims to be the largest of its type in the UK, shows Dacia to have, according to buyers, out-performed many well-established and premium brands with a 90% satisfaction score from customers.

    • The Dacia Duster, which claims to offer the best-value SUV on the UK market, was voted third-best Compact SUV.
    • The Dacia Sandero, the UK’s most affordable new car, received a Which? four-star reliability rating from buyers.
    • The Dacia Logan MCV also received a Which? four-star reliability rating.

Nic Shaw, Which? magazine’s cars editor, told The Corner in a media release: “Our survey, the biggest of its kind in the UK, showed that spending more on a car is no guarantee of reliability – sometimes quite the opposite.

“The ultra-affordable Dacia Sandero shows that a reliable runaround need not break the bank and Dacia finishing fourth overall in our manufacturers’ reliability table – a strong achievement for a relatively new car brand.”

Louise O’Sullivan, head of Dacia UK, commented: “We’re delighted that the 2016 survey is another endorsement by Dacia owners of how satisfied they are with their cars.

“Dacia continues to go from strength to strength in the UK with the range matching value for money with quality, reliability and owner satisfaction.”


The annual Which? car survey measures reliability and customer satisfaction based on feedback from more than 59 000 UK car owners reporting their experience in the last 12 months and is the largest such survey in the UK.

It considerss breakdowns, repair costs, downtime and the most common fault types for each model.

O’Sullivan added that Dacia has won numerous awards in the UK since launching just over three years ago, among them What Car?’s ‘Best Small Car under £12 000’ for four consecutive years with its Sandero.

Separately, the Auto Express Driver Power survey placed Dacia in its top five best manufacturers for three consecutive years out of 32 brands featured in the 2016 survey.


Buyers praised, particularly, the brand’s reliability.

The Dacia Sandero, a five-door hatchback in three trim levels with a choice of two petrol and one diesel engine. Rated “most affordable new car on sale in the UK”.*
Thee Dacia Logan MCV in three trim levels and with a choice of three engines, one of them a diesel.
The Logan MCV, in the Dacia range since the brand’s launch in the UK in 2013 and the most affordable SUV in the UK.
The Duster, available in three trim levels with a 1.6-litre petrol or 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine as a 4×2 or 4×4.*

Dacia reports more than four-million sales since parent Renault re-introduced the brand to Europe in 2004. The brand was launched in the UK in 2013 and since thenmore than 78 000 of its “shockingly affordable” vehicles have found a UK home.
