- Dynamique variants deliver 4.8 litres/100km
- New centre console, seat fabric, head and tail lights
- Rear parking camera added to specification list
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Renault says it has done a refresher course with its Duster SUV for the coming South African summer by adding features to what was already a pretty cool package.
For instance, the automaker says, on Dynamique variants cruise control and a 19cm touch-screen are now standard across the range with leatherupholstery a modest option.
Despite the changes, Renault says, the Duster range’s prices continue from R239 900 even with the value-adds; Renault says potential customers will be impressed by the enhancements.
The model range remains the same but “exciting new enhancements” have given each model a fresh look-and-feel. “Three years down the track (a surface on which the Duster has proved itself in Africa) the cars continue to be a formidable contender among South Africa’s B-segment SUV’s.”
The models variously have been given the current fashion of black alloy wheel rims, new head- and tail-lights, a rear parking camera, power rear window lifts on Expression models, a refreshed centre console, seat-fabric changes and more body-colour choices.
Other key features include:
- Cruise control standard on all models
- Dynamique 4×4 comes with three transmission modes
- Leather option on all Dynamique derivatives
Renault adds: “The Duster is a perfect fit for South African roads, equally at home on highways, in cities and in the suburbs as it is off the beaten track with all the diverse demands that brings.
“It’s tough, unpretentious and designed to unlock the adventurer in its owners. Being rugged and reliable, the Duster is perfect to take the family just about anywhere.”
As before, the upgraded Renault Duster comes with a choice of two engines: 1.6-litre, 77kW petrol (Expression and Dynamique 4×2) and 1.5-litre, dCi turbodiesel (Dynamique 4×2 and 4×4).
“While the new generation diesel derived from Renault’s Formula 1 engine expertise ticks all the boxes in terms of power and performance,” Renault adds, “its fuel efficiency is unparalleled at 4.8 litres/100km.”
The Duster’s Duster’s well-proven fuel efficiency, in an era in which fuel prices continue to see-saw, makes more sense than ever. (Price list below the image.)
