WHITLEY, England – Land Rover’s new Discovery is now (Feb 2017) in the showrooms of right-hand drive Britain under the banner of “the most versatile SUV on UK roads”
The Corner reported on this the fifth generation of Discovery for the first time in September 2016 but now we are told more than 4000 have already been sold in the UK and more than 25 000 globally.
Jeremy Hicks, MD of Jaguar Land Rover UK, told The Corner in a media release: “It’s a special moment when a new vehicle arrives in our retailers. After months of planning that moment is here. We’re very proud of the new Discovery – it does everything its predecessor does and more.”
PLANT VISITS FOR BUYERS
He added: “With increased (fuel) efficiency, improved versatility and clever technology for the whole family we have seen more than 4000 new and existing UK customers placed orders even before it reached dealers.”
New and existing customers in Britain were invited to Land Rover’s Solihull plant in the English Midlands site where the Discovery is built and pre-production models visited Land Rover dealers nationally. It was also shown at the London Boat Show in January 2017.
Potential customers have also experienced the new Discovery though a virtual reality experience.
