- ‘Timeless five-door design from Europe
RUSSELSHEIM, Germany – The next Hyundai i30 Wagon will be launched at the March 2017 Geneva international auto show, something some commentators might say is a bold move in a market which now far prefers more versatile SUV’s.
While the carefully mysterious image above was all Hyundai was showing, take a look at the host of images on google.com, such as the one below…
Indeed, wagons are pretty much extinct here in South Africa – but Hyundai has come up with a stunning new shape, even if the only sight we’ve had of it so far is the teaser picture above.
Thomas Bürkle, chief designer at the Hyundai Design Centre in Russelsheim, said: “The new member of the i30 family maintains the timeless design of its five-door sedan sibling, adding elegance and versatility in its bodystyle.
“It speaks the language of the i30 family in terms of design. It carries the new Hyundai family identity – the cascading grille. The tapering roofline and the dynamic proportions give the Wagon a coupé-like silhouette.
“The sleek and dynamic profile is emphasised by a chromed frame around each side windows.”
