HERNDON, Virginia – Volkswagen of America recently announced the release of ‘Luv Bug’, the first TV spot to feature the upcoming (in the US) all-new 2018 VW Atlas.
The video debuted on TV March 20 to herald VW’s expanded SUV range by sharing the story of a couple whose blossoming relationship results in the growth of both their family and their vehicle.
Vinay Shahani, a senior executive with VW US marketing, told The Corner in a media release: “’Luv Bug’” shows the evolution of VW through the eyes of a growing American family. They graduate from the iconic Beetle to the compact Jetta sedan then to the versatile Tiguan and eventually to our all-new 2018 Atlas.
“We’re excited to debut the Atlas with an ad campaign that celebrates our heritage.”
The ad (view it here) features the song “The Birds and the Bees” by Dean Martin and introduces the tagline “Life’s as big as you make it” – speaking to the versatility and space the Atlas has for both families and adventure-seekers.
The Atlas is being assembled in a VW plant at Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is the biggest boldest VW yet created for the US market while tailored to meet the needs of the American consumer.
The Atlas, VW US says, has class-competitive levels of technology and space along with VW driving dynamics and attention to detail “all at a price designed to draw customers’ attention in the family SUV segment”.
