- All-electric concept special ‘hints at future models”
- Another jewel in the Renault corporate crown
- Villa d’Este – queen of world’s elegant auto events
LAKE COMO, Italy – Renault’s TreZor has been named as Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year at Italy’s prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este
It’s an all-electric concept car which’, its maker, says “embodies the styling cues and technologies expected on future Renault vehicles”.
The concourse jury presented the award to Laurens van den Acker, Groupe Renault’s senior vice-president for coporate design, for the TreZor concept.
The cars were first shown at the Paris auto show in September 2016; the TreZor had already won Concept Car of the Year at the International Automobile Festival in Paris and Concept Car of the Year at the Geneva Car Design awards from a panel of top car designers.
The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este has been held annually since 1929 on the shore of Lake Como in Italy and attracts car enthusiasts and collectors from around the world to celebrate automobiles as precious and timeless works of art.
The TreZor, to enter the prototypes and concept cars category, had to meet a set of rigorous selection criteria as a working concept car with high-quality and original styling. The TreZor ticked all the boxes.
The concept-car showcases the design cues of future Renault models and is powered by an electric motor derived from Formula E with maximum power of 260kW and peak torque of 380Nm.
Stéphane Janin, Renault’s director of concept car design, commented: “This award testifies to the fine judgment of great car collectors, who consider automobiles to be works of art.
“It recognises the work of our designers who were part of this fantastic project.”
