BERLIN, Germany – Volkswagen will launch the next version in its long-running series of Polos here on Friday (June 16).

Only teaser images for now (sorry!) but VW says this the latest edition of its best-selling car is larger, more spacious and more comfortable and “will continue the success story of the compact model of which more than 14-million units have been sold”.

Klaus Bischoff, VW’s head of design, told The Corner the new Polo would make “a confident, sporty and emotional impression – down to the last detail”.

‘EXPRESSIVE DESIGN’

He added: “This Volkswagen can immediately be made out as the original of its class but as a completely new generation.

“It’s a Polo with an expressive design which makes the compact sportier, cleaner and unique within the brand range.

“This is a car that fits perfectly with our times – visually and technologically.”

We’ll see on Friday, when The Corner will have the full story.
