- How does 3.2 litres/100km sound for commuting?
- Accessories include three-piece luggage set
- ‘Cross the city – or go continental’
LONDON, England – Suzuki UK has confirmed pricing for its V-Strom 250, the newest addition to the brand’s adventure range expected in October 2017
In the UK, it will be the equivalent of R78 000, including taxes. But that’s for guidance only here in South Africa. Local prices will be announced when the bike reaches SA in early 2018.
The Suzuki’s 248cc parallel-twin engine makes 23.4Nm of torque at 6500rpm and peak power is listed as 19kW at 8000rpm but budget buyers will acknowledge that the V-Strom’s trump card is its fuel efficiency – 3.2 litres/100km.
Suzuki says its latest baby was designed to excel as a commuter – or as a continental adventurer.
It comes with a full LCD dash showing a fuel gauge, average fuel consumption, gear position indicator, two trip distance meters, odometer, oil change notification, tacho, speedo, and a clock.
Adding protection from the elements on longer journeys is an “extensively wind tunnel-tested” screen and bodywork and extra practicality can be arranged with a number of accessories – among them a three-piece luggage set, hand guards, and a centre stand.
