Isuzu production continues at Struandale plant in SA

PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa – Isuzu production managers have been inspecting the assembly line at the Struandale plant in Port Elizabeth to ensure production quality is uncompromised during the reorganisation process.

The production lines have been consolidated into a single platform for Isuzu light commercial vehicle assembly.

Isuzu Motors Limited recently announced its intention to buy the General Motors plant in South Africa as well as GM’s 30% shareholding in Isuzu Trucks South Africa.

STILL MAKING KB BAKKIES

Under the Isuzu brand, the company will continue to produce the Isuzu KB at Struandale and medium and heavy-duty trucks at the Kempston Road plant.

Isuzu has a strong heritage in South Africa through the assembly of bakkies for almost 40 years.
