Merc F1 teams-up with Tommy after being fired by Boss

LONDON, England – Formula 1 World champion Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas will be wearing Tommy Hilfiger for the 2018 season because his Mercedes team has announced partnership with the global fashion brand.

2017 (and earlier) clothing advertiser Hugo Boss has abandoned petrol-powered racing for the up-and-coming but parallel battery cars of Formula E.

Hilfiger branding will adorn the 2018 Mercedes race cars to be driven by Hamilton and Finnish team mate Valtteri Bottas.

Team boss Toto Wolff told Carman’s Corner in a media communication: ”It’s always exciting to embark on a new partnership, particularly when it involves a key area of our team’s image.”

Hilfiger had previously sponsored Mercedes’ arch-rival Ferrari but that was way back when seven-times Drivers’ champion Michael Schumacher was driving for that team, as well as, earlier, the now-defunct Lotus.

The 2018 F1 season will start in Australia on March 25.
