Silverstone shunt: Lewis steps back as Kimi says sorry

LONDON, England – Lewis Hamilton has accepted an apology from Kimi Raikkonen and agreed that their first-lap collision in Sunday’s 2018 Silverstone F1 GP was a non-deliberate racing incident.

For fans, it led to an amazing comeback by the British Mercedes driver as he fought back through the pack to eventually finish the GP in second place though later, after the race, he was reported as describing Finnish Ferrari driver Raikkonen as using ”interesting tactics”.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, according to Reuters, had also suggested that two collisions between a Ferrari and a Mercedes in three races ”were either deliberate or incompetent”. The previous collision was between Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes’ at June’s French GP.
