Lauda back in hospital five months after lung transplant

ZURICH, Austria – Former Formula 1 Drivers’ champion Niki Lauda is back in hospital in Vienna – this time with ‘flu = five months after submitting to a lung transplant.

Austrian media sites, according to Reuters, reported on Sunday that Lauda was flown from the Spanish holiday island of Ibiza to Vienna where, according to Oesterreich newspaper, he was admitted to the intensive-care section of the Vienna General Hospital – which would not comment.

Lauda, fans will recalled, who was severely burned in a 1976 F1 crash and when recovered – though with severe facial scars – went into the airline business.
