CHICAGO, Illinois – Lexus says it will bring some heat to the 2019 Chicago auto show with the first public appearance of its 2019 LC 500 Inspiration Edition.
It’s the third car in the Lexus Inspiration Series – described by its maker as ”a limited-edition coupe that has a unique mix of colours and features to go with the coupe’s stunning design”.
Each 2019 LC 500 Inspiration Series coupe has ‘Flare Yellow’ paint, described as ”a rich, metallic, yellow that’s eye-catching from a distance yet subtly handsome up close where the deep layers of paint highlight every crease in the sheet metal”.
Standard 21” wheel/tyre combos come with a carbon-fibre roof and lower grille insert by way of contrast.
The Series also has several unique design elements. Yellow Alcantara door inserts, Lexus says, connect interior and exterior.
The standard ”touring” seats are upholstered in yellow-stitched leather – a material also used on the instrument panel, centre console and glove box.
Only 100 of the LC 500 Inspiration Series will be assembled, each numbered on the carbon-fibre sills. The cars will also be delivered with a leather Lexus garment bag with a paint-matching yellow lining and double yellow stitching.
The LC Inspiration Series will have the same five-litre, non-turbo, V8 found in every LC 500 coupe. It sends 350kW through a 10-speed auto transmission and the cars will be capable of 0-100km/h in 4.4sec.
Sales will start (in the US, at least) in April 2019 at $106 210 (R1 420 700) ex-showroom.
